Student employees don't receive any benefits, so I did not have any paid time off or any of the mentioned benefits.
Benefits at UConn are very good. The medical coverage is great and unionized employees have a generous amount of sick and vacation time. The university provides 6 weeks of paid time off for maternity leave (8 for a C-section), but this has to come out of your existing sick time. So when you go back to work, you have no time off for baby's doctor appointments. Not so good!
