Great benefits. I actually LOVE the benefits. 401k's, health and dental, lots of other employee resources as well. LOVE The Benefits!!!
Only hourly based salary as contractor
Because it is a state-funded university, employees get their general medical insurance covered free of charge after 60 days. They also offer great deals for dental and vision. UHD also has great vacation, sick time, and leave for a multitude of situations. Likewise, they also match your average monthly contributions to your retirement fund.
State of Texas Higher Ed employee benefits- very good medical insurance. If you have no spouse or dependents then the University pays your premium.
No 401k but you get to use Texas TRS which is good.,
texas retirement system pays starting first day of employment. health benefits after 3 months.
They do not offer any benefit package for part time adjunct faculty.
The benefits package is most comprehensive and very sweet. As a state employee Health insurance is free.
The best thing: Nothing, average at best. The worst: The long term disability insurance is a fraud. The insurance company selected by UHD is known for its adversarial relationship to legitimate claimants, imposing extravagantly onerous continuing verification burdens on fully disabled employees who have paid years and years of premiums.
