benefits are ok you are part of the union that is weak and takes forever to negotiate a contract. last time we were 2 years without a contract because they were negotiating
Best: 2 months maximum paid time off after 7 years of service. Worst: pension system changes
Vacation time rolls over to next year
Offered to all employees now
health, dental, tuition reimbursement for employees and children
Pension, you earn sick time and vacation time each pay period which roll over yearly.
Employee Discount Health insurance Job Training Retirement Plan
Health insurance, dental coverage similar to other State of Illinois jobs with several different packages allowed, ranging from PPO to more expensive health care. Although the state is sometimes late to pay and has high deductibles, choosing an in-network provider is usually economical. 403(b) plans are supported, and for civil service workers, participation in the State University Retirement System is mandatory. Benefits, including minimum retirement age, etc., have changed significantly since I was hired in 1997.
List based on reports from current and former employees. It may not be complete.
