Health is great. The university network is excellent and the facilities are up-to-date
I really appreciate the benefits University of Miami offers. There are a ton of online courses that you can learn things (i.e. excel, MS Suite, etc.) all for free. I even receive a discount for working there at my kid's school. They offer 6 floating holidays, 48 hours of PTO to start with, the insurance isn't great.
They have many perks for full-time employees such as they will pay for any gas mileages used for any events or for work meetings, games etc. Over the summer you can schedule to work longer days so you do not have to come in for 5 days to save time and gas. So you can have Fridays off if you want if you work long hours on the rest of the days. They help with tuition reimbursement/credits. They have a great company culture with many activities that employees can take advantage of for their health and wellness and a great gym at a discounted rate for staff. I did not experience the same benefits as a full time employee since I was a constractor but was able to have some benefits which were awesome.
Great Employee benefits at the U!
You cant get everything you can think of! You are cover physically I mean every when I when to the dentist and and eye doctor they were amazed by the insurance plan the rates are low.
No Cons/All Pros; all employees should appreciate it.
Good benefit (exceeds peer), but shrinking every year.
The best benefit was that we had sick time, PTO, and floating holidays available.
UM offers excellent health care options for yourself and your spouse/family can be added as well. For retirement, the 403(B) plan is great but you have to wait one year until UM gives you 5% Core contribution and matches up to 5% of your retirement savings. Employee discounts on athletic tickets are a plus.
When you are an intern, you can only work 20 hours a week maximum so that no benefits are offered to interns
