The benefits package afforded to full-time workers is awesome. The Florida Blue PPO has only a 250 dollar deductible and the state offsets most of the premium price for the plan for you, saving you money on your paycheck.

good state retirement and insurance options. access to campus activities for free or discounted tickets, access to state-of-the-art facilities (health center, athletic areas, etc.). employee & family tuition benefit (free credit hours). opportunity for flex scheduling in many positions. generous paid annual (vacation) and sick leave in separate pots.

Best thing: able to take leave and paid for it. as a part-timer, it is not right to get all the expected benefits as a full timer would get.
