UVM offers a robust benefits package, with options. For example, one can select "high option" dental insurance. Vision insurance was recently added, though it is 100% employee paid (at a reasonable cost). UVM recently overhauled its 403b retirement plan, so that employees pay lower fees. Many paid holidays; plus, each employee selects a personal holiday. What you pay for health insurance is based on your salary, which is very reasonable.
Lots of vacation time for salaried workers! 17 days to start, 2 "cultural holidays" (essentially personal days), and 11ish paid holidays.
Main benefit offered to graduate students is free student health insurance. Student health insurance covered routine checkups but did not have great coverage for emergency services.
UVM offers a great benefits package! The only downside is that most lower level jobs yield lower pay, and some benefits are partially contributed to by the employee.
The healthcare and dental is amazing. I have almost everything covered, with very little copay. Even ann urgent care visit that consisted of blood work and lab work was only $20.
varied and pretty good mix of benefits
The benefit package is absolutely top notch with insurance, annual leave and retirement
Cheap. Overall great. You can get sick but still be okay. Great quality staff on board. Overall healthy community.
Great benefits, particularly for Vermont- plus tuition benefit.
The expanding network of people/events you are exposed to.
