Best: 5 options available and the ability to choose new each year...keeps current provider "on their toes" Worst: Premiums have become as expensive as most private sector health insurance premiums...this happened with salaries fixed, so the change was a 6% - 25% effective pay cut.
UW-Madison provides lots of different health insurance. I chose Group Health Cooperative and they were AMAZING. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
You can choose from a large list of plans. THe employer pays a large portion of it. It also covers your spouse and family.
Very good coverage for little cost.
University of Wisconsin Madison has the one of the best hospitals in the mid-USA. You can make an appointment with doctors or designate doctors you want online or through phone.
There's good insurance with relatively low out of pocket cost, and good providers in the city.
The health insurance is continually changing due to decisions made by the governor, making the benefit a bit less valuable each year. At this time, the health insurance is still very good, however, by next year it may no longer be a selling point as co-pays and insurance costs rise each year.
coverage getting worse price going up
The prices were fairly low as the copays were.
It covers most of health-related issues. But I am not satisfied with its dental and visional plan, which only cover the very basic issues. As you know, the major dental restorations can very super pricey.
