Tuition remission for staff is great, vacation increases after 6 years in a benefit eligible position. So if you are temp casual it doesn't count to the 6 years.

Only downside is PTO; it is insufficient in total, an additional amount is not added until year 6, and it accrues piecemeal, ensuring that if you are pulling your hair out every 2 months for a day or two off you'll never save up enough for a proper vacation.
sick time accrues quicker than vacation time. Vacation about 14 days per year. Employees receive 90% tuition remission after a year, 401k contribution is double matched. Health care is VERY affordable. The high deductible plans start at $0.
UOP has an overall good benefits package. Retirement (403b) is great: you contribute 5% and they contribute 10%. Medical is OK, but cost have been increasing quite a bit over the past couple of years and the level of service has decreased. There is a flextime and telecommuting policy, but only certain offices let you take advantage of it.
