I think the health insurance was decent. You could get prescriptions or referrals for physical therapy, dermatology, and other specialized care.

The PEF union helps with getting the great benefits that are available to the RN's who work in the institution. Tuition benefits are wonderful too at one hundred percent with attending Upstate College of Nursing.
If you work for the college, you'll be working for the state. UUP benefits are really great!
Busy work schedule all year round
Health Insurance is ok for a High Deductible plan. The 401k is pretty good since they off a safe harbor right away. You can't use any vacation time till 6 months in even though you are earning it since day on. If you need a day off that's not the weekend good luck hope you don't get sick or have a family emergency or your kids get sick.
We have health insurance options, we have dental/vision insurance, we have the option for retirement plans, and we have time off accruals that quickly add up.
Best thing: being State employee still gives you pension benefits
