VSP's health insurance premiums for its HMO are high, but the plan is very good. However, beginning in 2015, VSP is no longer offering its HMO plan. Everyone will be forced into an HSA to help balance health care costs.
Health benefits used to be a lot better a few years ago. Employees are being encouraged to enroll in high deductible plans. At least VSP does contribute some money to your HSA, if you choose the the high deductible plan.
The coverage is better than at many companies, however, employee contributions have increased each year for the past 7 years, while at the same time, the coverage has decreased a bit for each of the past 7 years.
