The Total Rewards at Valencia, including insurance benefits, Florida Retirement System benefits and employer contributions, holiday/vacation days, sick time leave and more... make it a great place to work!
Part-time is not eligible for any benefits except they are required to enroll you in a retirement after you work a certain amount of hours. It took over 4000 hours for me to have worked at the college to be eligible to receive retirement.
The part-time workers receive NO benefits. None whatsoever. No health insurance, 401K, NOTHING. This needs to change because even part-timers are working and building the Valencia College reputation and image.
There is not benefits package when you are part time. Not a big deal at all considering it is part time. It does not matter at all.
Long winter break (approx. 2 weeks), free health insurance (for self).
Health insurance is free for employees. However, if you try to add your spouse or kids, the premiums are expensive. One vacation day and sick day per month. Four personal days per year deducted from sick leave. Two free classes per semester after 6 months of employment.
Great benefits to offset low salaries. You receive 2 weeks paid vacation, 3 days off around Thanksgiving, 10 Days off around Christmas break, major holidays off and 1/2 days on Fridays from May - mid July. 6 sick/personal days. Great pension and investment plan as well.
generous PTO, half-day Fridays in the summer, decent health insurance options, Florida pension plan
Retirement account via TIAA taken from paycheck
What is the best or worst thing about the benefits package at Valencia College? The worst would be that there are no benefits for part-time staff at all.
List based on reports from current and former employees. It may not be complete.
