They changed the Paid Time Off/Paid Holidays policy without really letting anyone know they had changed it. I think they wrote it on the website via the "Thread" but they didn't really give you a heads up telling you to read it and be aware of what's changing. And my bosses didn't tell me until I had already lost my "Paid Holiday". Also, they stopped letting the employee's take advantage of the best promotion PLUS the employee discount. For example, the best promotion is 50% off, plus an extra 30% off and then the employee discount would be an extra 25% off. They used to let us group all those discounts together, but now when they do 50-30, you can't use your employee discount (the 25% off).
Only benefit is 50% off merchandise
Heath insurance was not good, had a $3000 deductible, 1 person could never meet it. No eye insurance, good dental benefits.
Working part-time at Vera Bradley does not come with benefits. The pay increase is the worse, the discount is only 25% which isn't much since everything is so expensive, and there is no commission bonus. The best thing is free food every so often and other associates.
Occasionally we will get lunch on Vera, about $8 per person. They have a lot of store/district/company wide contests where if you win you get something called "Vera Bucks" and it's similar to monopoly money which you can spend in the store on product. If you make the monthly sales plan you get a bonus (management recieve money on their paychecks, associates receive Vera Bucks).
if you're part time there is none
Worst thing:Very high deductible for medical. Must use all vacation time in same year (cannot carry over vacation) Best thing; great discount
Sometimes you get free money to spend in the store when you meet certain goals! Also, awesome discount!
They were generous with time off, if you had the opportunity to take it. I left with over three weeks MTO untaken.
