Vacation pay was changed to personal time off as approved by manager, no set vacation accrual for salaried employees.
Unlimited time off, and time off allowed to volunteer
'unlimited time off' but you have to get approval from management and there are still a lot of rules around how much time and when you can take the time. unlimited really means less vacation time.
Veritas changed to an "unlimited" PTO program after the divestiture from Symantec.
Company has move to "non-accrued time off" - meaning that you take as much time as you need (pending manager agreement). Company peer pressure prevents you from taking too much time ... or any at all. It's easier to use vacation when it's a "use it or lose it" benefit.
Recently switched from PTO to FTO
One of the last companies still have paid time off. Industry moving to unlimited.
