The policies are very expensive.
When you have your dental insurance, or vision insurance wrapped together with your health insurance you really don't have coverage in those areas. High deductible health insurance plans used to be known as "catastrophic health insurance plans". The type of plan offered at WS Packaging costs some employees as much as 25% of their WAGES if you factor in the premium being siphoned off their paychecks and then the $5500.00 family deductible - remember to take into account that dental care, except routine cleanings are covered at ZERO % until the deductible has been met. Most families never come close to meeting their deductibles, so in essence they are paying for health insurance that they cannot afford to use. Since this a "self funded"plan, my guess (and we'll never because they are not required nor will they release expenses/profit) is that common worker is funding the lavish pay and perks through this "plan". If I could I would rate this lower than 1star.
For a high deductible plan it has been much easier to meet my deductible due to the fact that Health, Vision and Dental are all in one. There are two options you can choose from, one less expensive plan geared towards people that don't go to the doctor much and one that's more expensive, but you will get to your deductible more quickly. I went with the more expensive family plan, with all of us working towards whittling down the one deductible of $3500 instead of the less expensive plan, but each person had to meet 3000 by themselves. Once you hit this deductible that is when they pay 80% and you pay 20%. You get wellness visits covered (physical, 2 cleanings among others). I use my health insurance regularly and have not had any major complaints.
$5500 deductible... way too high.

The worst thing js the deductibles. The best thing is the opportunities for free money on tbe flex card and the regular maintenance stuff if covered 100%
