Job training is great if you get a trainer that has the patience and knowledge to train a new employee properly. If you get a trainer that doesn't care, a server that isn't properly trained will slow the flow of the Waffle House way and customers get frustrated with all of us because the food is taking so long.

Okay but much of the official training does not translate to other jobs as it is just about the Waffle house systems.
The job training is decent if you get with someone who has worked for waffle house for a few years
It all depends on your location as far as “how well” you’re trained but you get paid minimum wage $7.25 for the 4 or 5 day training. Ideally, they’d like to see progress within 7 days!
They have a written policy for how to train, as well as how the new managers are to receive additional support once they reach their store, but it is for a show. The real world shows a distinct lack of follow through on this written promise.

Training is very important in every aspect of Waffle House. What their core values and 5 and 10's are if followed to the letter work. You will make very good money and the customer will leave happy.
