“My experience with using sick leave was not friendly. Even with many hours accumulated, the usage of the time was heavily scrutinized.”
The best thing about the benefits package at Wake Tech are the NC state employee benefits. They are best for people who don't need to cover spouses or dependents but are still more affordable for that coverage than many other workplaces.
Benefits are equal to state government benefits. If you’re single the cost is minimal but if you have a family it can be expensive
Paid day off for most holidays
The health insurance is so so. There are perks like gym access and the 20 hrs of community service leave are nice for individuals active in the community.
Worst thing is the mandatory pension deduction of 5%. Also, no HSA option and the state medical plans are terrible. There is a roth 401k option, but the investment vehicles are all North Carolina funds. You can't invest in the broad S&P500, index funds, etc.
No benefits; salary is meant to offset cost and time of working at home.
Very standard. No real "perks" and health benefits keep declining.
High deductibles and expensive add-ons. No 401k, no matching.
part time people get paid a month behind instead of the hourly
Good benefits package, especially in this day and age of minimal benefits.
List based on reports from current and former employees. It may not be complete.
