Benefits are very comprehensive, variety of discounts and family healthcare, valuable in this economy
Benefits are excellent in my opinion....and there is room for growth in the department I work in.
Since I am a postdoc, the company doesn't offer much benefits other than health insurance.
You have access to some of the best physicians at an affordable price. Monthly medical contributions are around 200.00 for a family of 2.
Discounts on everything from phone service, rental cars, hotels, clothes... you name it. Medical, dental, vision etc. is comparable to any other medical facility.
Cornell's benefits were great because we had good insurance coverage. They start you at 2 weeks off, plus sick time (about 12 days a year) and 3 personal days.
No such thing as maternity leave. Instead, you must apply for Short Term Disability at 50% pay or use FMLA with your sick and/or vacation time.
Unfortunately maternity leave is only 50% paid for post docs and research associates.
Comprehensive health insurance plans, with options to choose from. Really great flexibility regarding these plans. There are additional benefits such as vision, dental, and even pet insurance that are offered. Corporate benefits such as discounted tickets to shows, sporting events, etc.
Robust health insurance benefits, generous vacation days (including personal days).
