    The health insurance is average to better than average, with decent premiums, multiple plan options (HSA, HRA, etc.), the ability to choose employee +1 instead of going straight from single to family coverage, and domestic partner coverage. 401K is company match to 5%. No pension, but there is a biannual profit share into the 401K. PTO instead of separate vacation and sick time, but they're pretty generous with it.

    Current benefits package is very good. West-Ward recently purchased Boehringer-Ingelheim Columbus facilities. We expect the benefits package to be reduced over the next few years as the facility is assimilated into the West-Ward system.

    The best benefit is the company's 40% match on amount that employee contributes to 401K plan (even if you contribute maximum allowable by IRS). PTO is split into sick, personal, and vacation days, and they are not on the same schedule. It is at your manager's discretion as to how you can use your sick/personal days. Previously employees would receive a payout for unused sick & personal days annually, but now it is a "use it or lose it" policy. 1/4 of vacation days are allowed to rollover into the next year. New employees only receive 10 days of PTO (5 sick, 2 personal, 3 vacation days). Would like to see a health insurance plan without copays, but the $0 weekly contribution option is very generous. Vision insurance only allows you to purchase glasses/contacts every other year. Would like to see stock options and/or a profit sharing program available to employees. West-Ward does not seem to pay for employees to attend work-related conferences/seminars, but does pay for professional memberships. Work-related payments are initially made at employee's personal expense, and then reimbursed after submitting expense report. Would like to see the company focus on local events more. The Cleveland Cavs just won the NBA finals, which was the first win for a Cleveland team in 52 years, and it wasn't even mentioned.
