Healthcare package is very good. Medical is fully paid for the employee and family. The deductibles are a couple of thousand unless you buy them out, which is also employee funded, but that seems like the norm nowadays.
good benefits package and good paid time off
The 2017 package still includes a free option for real medical and dental. They also have a paid package to lower deductibles for reasonable cost. I haven't gone to a doctor that doesn't accept it
Vacation Time Off, Personal Time Off was usually approved with no issues.
Company offers many impressive benefits to employees at low cost and reasonable deductibles.
The PTO policy is extremely generous. Past employment and schooling are factored into the number of days allotted to employees. 10 paid holidays.
401k matching is great, the vision plan could be better (such as covering blue light filter lenses for computer work), degree compensation is pretty good.
The best benefit was the company's 40% match on the employee 401K contribution; however, the company has now switched to a 6% match of your annual income. PTO is split into sick, personal, and vacation days. It is at your manager's discretion as to how you can use your sick/personal days. Previously employees received a payout for unused sick & personal days annually, but now it is a "use it or lose it" policy. 1/4 of vacation days are allowed to rollover into the next year. New employees only receive 10 days of PTO (5 sick, 2 personal, 3 vacation days). Would like to see a health insurance plan without copays, but the $0 weekly contribution option is very generous. Vision insurance only allows you to purchase glasses/contacts every other year. West-Ward prefers to bring training on-site instead of flying people to conferences/seminars, and pays for professional memberships. Work-related payments are initially made at employee's personal expense, and then reimbursed a few weeks after submitting expense report, which is very hard for people on a tight budget. Would like to see stock options and/or a profit sharing program available to employees. Would like to see the company focus on local events more. (Cleveland Cavs won the NBA finals in 2016, which was the first win for a Cleveland team in 52 years, and it wasn't even mentioned.) If West-Ward wants to attract talent to Cleveland (and hopes to retain them), they should get employees excited about local events and proud to be a part of a city that is reinventing itself.
Benefits; mainly PTO that was carried over from Roxane labs, however, many bad stuff carried over from Roxane Labs such as: favoritism, lack of professional career development, lack of scientific talent
The medical insurance is good
