You can work from home occasionally, as long as your supervisor is ok with it. However, if you want to go full-time remote, that's a different story. It's much more difficult and there are more rules in place. Westat also never closes for snow because it's expected folks can just work from home.
Flexible hours. My day started when I left home and drive time was counted and miles were compensated.
There is so much preparation that you must do to get ready for an assessment, that working from home causes you to work late at night, weekends, holidays . Some of the training you completed at home. Along with surveys and review of the next days information. This was all paid for.
You can work around the schedule of your children.
It's very flexible. Westat has a remote access software program which allows employees to access their desktop computer from home.

They are open to discussion of and approving arrangements for work from home for selected roles within the organization. Support with office equipment needed. Give adequate notice about activities that will require commute into the office.
