WesternU offers two week off around Christmas for most departments, which does not require using sick or vacation time. The downside is that employees have to pay for parking - a little over $400 a year. However, most universities in the Los Angeles county area require employees to pay for parking.
The best things about the benefits package at WesternU is, as a full-time employee, you have a variety of full coverage plans that suit your needs which you can change annually. Another perk is the 401k, vacation, and full time off for holidays and christmas/new year 2 weeks off paid.
Excellent benefits. 2 weeks paid vacation at the end of the year was hard to let go of. Generous time off allowances increases with every year of employment.
The 7% match 403b was quite impressive. Accrued vacation after the first year is the most I have ever received from an organization. 10 paid holidays a year. Currently two weeks off at the end of the year paid, depending on department and job.

The benefits packet is awesome! Dental, eye, and medical are all covered at a great low cost. The only downside is adding a family member is expensive.
