The best thing about the job training at Winn-Dixie was how inclusive it was. It felt like I was getting a real 1:1 with my trainer, and I successfully learned within the week.
They have great training and leadership classes
The on site job training was remarkably high tech and extensive throughout the first 6 months. Active participation from each new employee was required.
the job training consisted of tests. you read an article, take the test, and if you pass, you pass and can do whatever it is the test was for (which was kind of hard to remember, and i never really did get a chance to use any special equipment other than the cardboard box bailer. on the job however, was really hard. on some days, i can talk to my co-workers about what im doing and if im doing it right. but on other days, it was so busy, i felt it would be right to not say anything sincce everyone was rushing around me and telling me to do things. it would be great if the store had a training session devoted to new employees where they would walk around and tell you how to do things and explain questions. but for me, i didn't have the 'luxury' and i had to learn on the job while running around with the others.
I don't know who trained these people to train but training is very poor. There should be a set way of doing things and a lot of the training is as you go rather than what to expect.
