It's a freelance gig; they do not provide traditional benefits to the tutors. But as a tutor, working for Wyzant is so much better than trying to work on your own, because they take care of all the administrative details such as marketing and collecting payment. And you choose your own hours.
Good salary but there are no insurance benefits. It is a freelance job that can be rewarding when you impact another person's life and help them achieve success in their academic goals.
You are able to choose your work hours and hourly rate. You can also choose not to work with students who request tutoring.
No benefits because tutors work as independent contractors. Much flexibility.
Paid and discounted tutoring, unlimited PTO and subsidized gym memberships - those are my favorite part of our benefits package!
There are none. Employer not interested in working with contractors.
As far as I could tell there were NO benefits. My business relationship with them didn't last that long, and the issue of benefits never came up.
This place is awful. They call all of their tutors "contract" or "independent" so there are NO benefits.
The best thing is that they don't withhold taxes because they report on a 1099. The worst thing is that there are no benefits besides income.
Good benefits, but could use some vision coverage.
