Great benefit package including generous retirement match and tuition remission.
Benefits were great but that was about it. The free education that you get as an employee is a huge bonus.
Great 401K and Tuition Remission for Self/Spouse/ or dependents
Excellent retirement benefits (university contributes 9%), flexibility, generous vacation. No parental leave is a major issue because employees must rely on sick/vacation days, which vary based on length of service. This creates inequity and unnecessary stress.
highlight of the benefits package is the tuition reduction to both Xavier and a variety of partner universities. Negative would be the annual increase in medical costs.
Generous benefits package where the university picks up a substantial amount of the insurance premium. Also several times during the year the university is closed - doesn't count towards your vacation.
Fantastic time off (4.25) biweekly days off - increases after year 2 of employment, great TIAA-CREF retirement, good dental, medical is only so-so (Humana), and overall pretty good benefits! 10% off at the Starbucks and Bookstore, and free tuition for self (as well as discounted tuition for dependents).
Best part of benefits package involves 401k plan. Full-time employees only contribute 2-5% and the university provides 8.5% of salary in addition towards retirement.
The best thing is the tuition remission, the worst is the Vacation time. You get two weeks, does not carry over.
