The benefits package at Xorail is great. The only thing I wish we received is bonuses and vacation/sick days.
Not enough PTO for years of service. Health benefits are average. No wellness programs. 401k is average compared to other companies.
Cost is best. Worst is like any other employer you can't choose who you want. Have to choose in network.
Privately funded and expensive to have. Processed through BCBS, so more red tape to go through. Not user friendly, and the premiums rise every year....
The best is it is Company Funded. The worst is, that is it company funded, under Wabtec. The cost as with most insurance is high, but the quality is good. they offer Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, LTD, STD, Life, Accidental, and the list goes on.
401k match, easy access to benefits for changes.. No sick or grievince days
Great medical, dental, and vision (full-time family ) 401k is nice but HR can be a pain to deal with.
Xorail offers medical benefits to all full-time employees. There is a 401(k) plan with employer matching. The company will match up to 3%. Hourly employees earn 6 hours of PTO per month and salaried employees earn 10 hours of PTO a month. You begin with no PTO and you earn it for each month worked. The company also has a tuition reimbursement program and they will reimburse up to $10,000 annually. They will reimburse 50% of tuition after each semester as long as you maintain a B average and the remaining 50% will be disbursed two years after you receive your degree.
Pros: 3 weeks paid vacation per year, 10 additional paid holidays, very low insurance premiums, 401k match up to 3% and free company contribution of 3%, dental/vision. Cons: No stock options for Wabtec (parent corporation).
Based on 40 hr work week, paid per hour...no over time pay, nor shift differential. You get paid for every hr worked, some time 14 hrs days. But always at least 40 per week, and holidays respected. You become a road warrior, and learned to do all work mobile. Remember you only bill time on job. Need to print something, find a kinks or Fedx or carry printer. I personally like time off after completing large projects, but never given enough time off to catch up with family demands, I learned you just have to demand it! They furnish you a vehicle, sometime living expenses and per diem, depending on project and how negotied before you get it. Depending on project and your personal style depends on how you develop yourself, will depend if you get another project.
List based on reports from current and former employees. It may not be complete.
