One of the best overall benefits package out there.
Very affordable healthcare option if you live in/around New Haven (Yale Health Plan), very generous retirement match.
I have a chronic medical condition that is rare, the healthcare options provide good coverage at a reasonable cost. Options of have care through Yale University or private insurance. My families prefers Yale University coverage, affordable and efficient.
Health care is provided through Yale Health, which is a freestanding building with its own set of doctors. It seems pretty easy to get in to see doctors, but it seems like a (very big) student health center.
free health insurance with limited choices and have to pay premium with more choices. good compensation for retirement plan.
The best part of being a Clerical & Technical employee is you are eligible for very low cost health insurance (free for coverage for a single person), Yale contributes to both a 403b account and a pension fund, and paid vacation and sick time is generous. The worst part of the benefits package is tuition assistance - for an educational institution it's surprisingly ungenerous.
Best is the matching on 501K up to 5% of your salary. That's pretty standard for any company but it's pretty nice. The Yale Health Care system is pretty good as well-- it's fairly extensive in scope and all things considered the cost is quite reasonable. Lack of affordable dental coverage is an issue and costly parking is a bit of a downer. Benefits scale down (health insurance costs/parking costs/etc) as you make more so expect for things to be quite lackluster at higher salaries.
The benefits are pretty good. Health coverage is very good and most things are reasonably priced. Dr visit s have no co-pay, prescriptions are fairly priced for the most part. It is becoming less inclusive and there are more fees associated than in the past so this evaluation may change. Dental insurance is offered as an added fee and is acceptable, but could be better. Vision is also an added benefit for fee and is average
