This is the best provision from any company I have worked for. You start earning 3 weeks PTO the day you start. This is on top of 11 company paid holidays.
The amount of vacation is comparable to other companies I have worked for. It is plenty of time but not overly generous to compete with start ups in the area.
Time off is discouraged by the way the jobs are structured
We have the basic holidays off; but holidays are pretty minimal compared to some other companies, or government jobs of course. BUT in return we get 3 personal holidays to use whenever we want in addition to PTO which accumulates at about 12 days per year. So total about 3 weeks PTO per year plus holidays. 3 paid sick days. Sick and PTO rolls over. Personal holidays do not, so use those first!
You'll have to acrue vacation time and will be capped at two weeks. The longer you are employed, the quicker you'll acrue tome, but it's still not so quick. You'll also be working on a few holidays that you might now expect.
We only start with ability to earn 3 weeks, at other places I have actually started with more. They also give floater days to cover major holidays. Overall its ok.
*10 days PTO *5 sick days *2 floating holidays this year (use them like PTO) *8 paid holidays in 2018
The best thing about the Vacation and PTO is that they are really lenient with when you take time off.
starting PTO is above average. Never had vacation time requests denied. Allow you to borrow some PTO and go negative with approval occasionally.
Time could accrue a little faster but other than that it's fine.
