Super friendly team - exec team is very accessible and supportive
As an independent contractor, which pretty much every assistant at Zirtual is, you get 0 benefits.
Virtual Assistants are paid twice monthly, and are contracted for $1,500 each month, before taxes are taken out. There is health insurance if you are a full-time employee- it is expensive however, and takes a chunk out of an already-low paycheck. If you can get clients above 120 hours per month, you get additional pay for those clients, at about $12.50 per client hour. However, the clients are very fickle, and could cancel at any time, dropping your pay significantly, so you cannot count on the bonus pay to be consistent. Taking time off from work is a hassle - if you are sick and cannot spend time to update your manager on each of your clients' needs, they count it against you.
Best thing - unlimited vacation policy, worst thing - 401K program not offered
I did not work there long enough to take advantage of the benefits, however I do know there was medical, dental and vision offered. I cannot remember if 401K was offered.
The beneifts package was fairly comprehensive and included health insurance, 401K, and paid time off. However, this is a big part of the reason the company failed.
The paid time off was great. You got 2 weeks plus 2 floating holidays annually. The health insurance was good too. I never had any unexpected medical bills and claims were approved quickly.
The worst thing about working for Zirtual was that they emailed me that I had lost my job. Said they would pay for PTO and did not. The best thing was that I was able to take my clients and work independently for them.
Really good benefits, took effect immediately.
Benefits and price are great if its just you. Its horribly expensive if you have a family though.
