The Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) treats individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) using applied behavior analysis (ABA). ABA is empirically proven to be the most effective method for treating individuals with ASD and is recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the U.S. Surgeon General. CARD was established in 1990 by Dr. Doreen Granpeesheh - a renowned clinical psychologist and expert in autism research and treatment. With a PhD in psychology from UCLA, Dr. Granpeesheh is licensed by the medical boards of California, Texas, Virginia, and Arizona and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. She is the 2011 recipient of the American Academy of Clinical Psychiatrists' Winokur Award. Under the direction of Dr. Ivar Lovaas at UCLA, Dr. Granpeesheh authored an autism treatment curriculum now known as the CARD Model and opened the first CARD office in 1990. Today CARD has grown to a staff of over 1,000 highly trained professionals worldwide.
