What does an Assistant Education Manager do?
Education managers oversee the approach to instruction that is being provided at a school, college, training center, or other educational institution or organization. They assess the curriculum and the format in which it is being delivered, and also review the accompanying tools and resources. They often conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the existing tactics and methodology. They make recommendations for improvements or adjustments that could provide a better learning experience or improve the educational setting for both students and instructors, and supervise the implementation of any changes.
Education managers generally have at least a bachelor’s degree in education or a related field, although an advanced degree is an asset. They have a strong background in the education field, with roles that involve the evaluation and implementation of curriculum and other learning tools.
- Plan, organize, and supervise the day-to-day operations for current and future education events.
- Secure the ESE/SPED services to meet youth's identified Individual Educational Plan (IEP).
- Develop and execute a research team roadmap and strategy.
- Author or co-author strategic policy reports, research papers, op-eds, articles, presentations, etc.
- Schedule employee training to ensure that all mandatory training requirements are met.
- Provide ongoing effective supervision to unit employees and monitors case management activities.
- Lead, design, and oversee research projects that support company initiatives.
- Participate in regular cleaning of materials and classroom spaces.
- Manage researchers and present research publicly at conferences and other external research engagements.
- Ensure a safe and healthy environment and complete daily tasks assigned.
- Develop and implement systems to organize and monitor work activities.
- Develop business cases to support the opportunities and present to executive management.
- Maintain confidentiality of records, interactions and files of families and staff.
- Monitor the progress of new and existing teaching methods.
- Focus on faculty recruitment, to ensure qualified instructors for all programs.
- Ensure all students are advised on a regular basis regarding their progress.
- Ensure timely, accurate data collection, measurement, analysis, and reporting.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in education, business administration, behavioral science, or related field.
- Excellent leadership and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Able to collaborate effectively with staff and administrators.
- Able to implement or supervise onboarding process.
- Comfortable serving in an advocacy role.
- Course development experience is an asset.
