What does a Planning Analyst Intern do?
Planning analysts gather data and create statistical models that help organizations improve their financial investments and avoid inefficiencies. They work for financial institutions including banks or securities firms, and insurance companies. Planning analysts look for business and marketing strategies that increase company profits while reducing costs and developing marketing and financial strategy to increase company profits and boost sales. They study and analyze various business data and financial information, including market trends, sales figures, and inventory control matters.
Planning analysts streamline daily business operations looking for ways to cut costs, maximize sales, and increase profits. They collaborate with managers and staff to implement financial and marketing plans, write reports outlining various business strategies, and design detailed plans to enforce them. Planning analysts create economic forecasts and sales projections based on new and current business data and need a bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, or related fields of study.
- Ensure the resolution of programming issues through project completion.
- Compile, analyze and interpret monthly reports and other data.
- Collaborate with engineers, planners, and policy makers to research, analyze, or resolve complex transportation issues.
- Direct the overall planning and development of new Space activities and the activities of current projects and programs.
- Analyze working procedures with the objective to identify best practices.
- Track and utilize client feedback data to create continual improvement cycles.
- Monitor vendor performance and proactively identify issues and risks with their work.
- Act in the best interest of the department to resolve conflict with external partners while maintain, a professional relationship.
- Develop, present and maintain headcount budgets, forecasting and gearing ratios.
- Be a key part of the team that provide strategic and tactical information as a critical tool in our decision making processes.
- Provide zoning administration and coordinate presentations to the public, elected, or appointed officials.
- Evaluate existing and proposed project sites and facilities with respect to program requirements.
- Oversee the planning improvement processes for defined product families and suppliers to exceed company KPIs.
- Meet regularly with client leads to evaluate team performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Participate in hiring process including identifying hiring criteria, recruiting, and interviewing applicants.
- Create and maintain financial models to drive business decisions.
- Bachelor's or Graduate's Degree in business, engineering, computer science or statistics, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with SQL and CPIM software and systems.
- A leader and problem solver with attention to details and critical thinking skills.
- Fluent in statistics, planograms, spreadsheets, and frameworks.
- Demonstrated time management and prioritization skills.
- Comfortable collaborating and making decisions with an eye on continuous improvement.
