What does a Process Assistant do?

Process assistants provide a wide range of administrative and logistical support services to help with basic business and operational functions. They may perform a variety of clerical duties such as data management and analysis, scheduling and calendar management, delivery coordination, and vendor relations. They would be expected to look for ways to improve or streamline processes to save time or improve efficiency. They frequently perform customer service duties or serve as a receptionist. They may also assist with shipping and transportation tasks.

Process assistants typically have at least a high school diploma, although additional education or training is usually preferred. Proficiency with common office software programs such as Excel is expected. These roles require attention to detail, good organizational skills, and strong project management capabilities.

What responsibilities are common for Process Assistant jobs?
  • Evaluate and develop the most effective business analysis services.
  • Responsible for budgeting and forecasting for department or project spending.
  • Define detailed requirements for new applications, advising, and follow up on change requests.
  • Deliver on the new process/approach in order to meet client and internal goals.
  • Participate and contribute in team and/ or customer meetings.
  • Participate in all aspects of the application life cycle: requirements analysis and definition, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and sustainment.
  • Establish standards and procedures to ensure the technical team works in a consistent manner and maintain validated state of systems.
  • Participate in product improvement activity such as defect analysis and quality improving.
  • Create reports, compile data, assist caseworkers in providing services to clients and act as backup for the agency's front desk and provide other duties as assigned.
