The school has seven schools and colleges devoted to liberal arts and sciences; engineering and computer science; fine and performing arts; urban and public affairs; business administration; social work; and education. PSU also has a school dedicated to extended studies, which includes distance learning, continuing education, and professional development. Student enrollment at PSU exceeds 24,000. The university was established in 1946.

Georgia Southern University shows students that higher education can be just peachy. Georgia Southern offers more than 100 bachelor, master, and doctoral programs from eight colleges; academic fields include business, education, science, and public health. One of 35 colleges and universities in the University System of Georgia, it enrolls more than 17,000 students, most of which hail from Georgia. Georgia Southern has graduate centers in Augusta, Brunswick, Dublin, and Savannah; it also offers distance learning programs. Founded as a district agricultural school in 1906, the institution became a university in 1990.

The University of South Florida, a high-impact research university dedicated to student success and committed to community engagement, generates an annual economic impact of more than $6 billion. With campuses in Tampa, St. Petersburg and Sarasota-Manatee, USF serves approximately 50,000 students who represent nearly 150 different countries. If "You Are Marshall," you know that Marshall University is a state-supported institution serving about 14,000 students, including 4,000 graduate and medical students. The university offers about 70 baccalaureate and more than 50 graduate programs through more than a dozen colleges and schools. Students attend classes either at the university's main campus in Huntington, West Virginia; at its South Charleston campus; or online. Named for former Chief Justice John Marshall, the university was established in 1837. The 2006 movie, "We Are Marshall," dramatizes the aftermath of the 1970 plane crash that killed most of Marshall's Thundering Herd football team.

The University of California, Riverside is not among the best known of the 10 UC campuses, but it is home to about 17,000 students, including some 2,000 graduate students. The campus covers 1,200 acres and is located 50 miles east of Los Angeles. A branch campus is located in Palm Desert. The school has its origins in a citrus agricultural station established in 1907, where grad students did coursework. A college opened for classes in early 1954, and it was designated a university in 1959. UC Riverside offers bachelor's and master's degrees, as well as Ph.D. programs. Students can choose to study a variety of subjects including engineering, agricultural sciences, business management, or education.
