What does a Senior Sales Trainer do?
Sales trainers provide sales training, mentoring, and support services. They train and educate sales staff from the point of their initial hire and on a continuous, ongoing basis. They develop and implement training and professional development programs. They may also provide training to help other staff members outside of the sales department strengthen and develop their sales skills. They create, select, and develop curriculum and other resources for training programs. They may also assist with the recruitment and hiring process by helping with the creation of job profiles or position descriptions.
Sales trainers typically have at least a high school diploma, although a bachelor’s degree is usually preferred. They have a strong background in sales, ideally including roles as a sales trainer. Teaching or training experience or a history of creating training materials is helpful.
- Establish training needs by collaborating with sales leadership, analyze sales KPI's and performance results.
- Give tours to prospective members and enrolling prospects after tour process.
- The continual development of quality new hire and continuation training programs and training materials.
- Develop individual and/or group training methods to meet the needs of the department.
- Evaluate training program effectiveness and make adjustments as needed.
- Create coaching components and knowledge articles to support continuation training and performance development.
- Provide a leadership role to mentor and coach sales agents as needed or requested by leadership.
- Build and sustain relationships using the appropriate interpersonal skills and communication methods to build constructive relationships with customers, business units, service organizations and other stakeholders to meet shared goals and objectives.
- Contribute to the team's success by demonstrating cooperation and collaboration while participating in a group or team environment.
- Actively participate in community-sponsored events and other outside opportunities to promote the club.
- Strong command of English language and good communication skills.
