What does an IT Engineer, Senior Staff do?

Technology engineers are professionals trained in certain aspects of the development and implementation of respective areas of technology. Like engineers, engineering technologists work in areas including product design, fabrication, and testing. They develop tools, implement designs, or integrate machinery, equipment, or computer technology to assist with the manufacturing process.

Technology engineers are devoted to the implementation of existing technology within engineering fields. They recommend corrective or preventive actions that assure or improve product quality and reliability and often work with engineers in various projects by applying basic engineering principles and technical skills. Technology engineers are usually focused on the portion of a technological spectrum closest to product improvement, manufacturing, construction, and engineering operational functions. Technology engineers need a minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering or related fields.

What responsibilities are common for IT Engineer, Senior Staff jobs?
  • Prepare thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, cost estimates and design sketches.
  • Maintain records and files and update the appropriate company/client systems.
  • Support both company and client's business goals and expectation while representing themselves both positively and professionally.
  • Provide experienced technical expertise to accurately analyze options and prepare distribution facility designs for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
  • Interact with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to resolve and troubleshoot system issues.
  • Conduct research on software and systems products to justify recommendations and to support
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes.
  • Develop positive working relationships with internal and external customers to effectively coordinate work activities.
  • Act as the technical lead on projects with the team, designing and engineering modifications and providing status reports to stakeholders.
  • Perform field work as required to validate customer and system requirements.
  • Learn, practice, and promote safety policies and procedures 100% of the time.
  • Develop skills to safely make job-site visits and interact with construction personnel.
  • Develop and demonstrate ability to use the various design software and work management tools utilized by the company and client(s).
  • Accurately and effectively manage projects from start to completion.
  • Lead technical troubleshooting and resolution efforts for incident response, coordinating with the incident manager, prime and customer liaisons, and internal management.
  • Monitor environment health including mail-flow, environment backups, email security including spam and anti-virus, and supporting tool functions, identifying potential problems and areas for improvements and enhancements.
  • Prepare reports and communicate on the current status and functionality of the platform and supporting applications to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure backups, archiving functionality, e-discovery, voice-to-email and fax-to-email services are functioning properly.
  • Utilize the results of monitoring and environment problems to identify opportunities for increasing service levels and resolving issues.
  • Stay abreast of technology advancements, user requirements, and platform improvement opportunities to increase.
What are the typical qualifications for IT Engineer, Senior Staff jobs?
