During my interview with a Vice President, he mentioned that the "background check" had been reviewed. He brought up cities I had lived in at one point, even though I hadn't included that information on my resume or LinkedIn profile, though it is accurate. Additionally, he was aware of my entrepreneurship experience, which I had not disclosed anywhere. I'm curious about the source of this information. I'm currently progressing through the interview rounds without any offer or signed documents.
It came from the background check
Like4If your over the age of 27 any criminal history as a minor goes into microfish base and only the government usually accesses it
Like1Are you saying you didn’t complete a background check and that’s why it’s weird? Because otherwise it came from the background check…
Like1It definitely just came from the background check but the fact that you’re asking about it means that your gut instinct is telling you that they crossed a boundary by bringing that up in an interview. It’s just odd behavior. I would never say to somebody in an interview, so I see you lived here, here and here. It’s just too much.
Like6You don't have the locations of the companies that you have work for are located in or advertise your business anywhere that the VP could have done some light research to find out? Unless you provided your SSN on your application, it wouldn't have been possible to run a full fledged background check.
LikeIn order for them to get that info you have to supply them with your date of birth or social security number. If you are saying you never signed anything consenting to a BGC i would revisit the application you submitted.
