Hello, Please be kind. I’m so out of the loop and beat down, and may have posted this in a wrong group. I have been at my job 11 years, applied for a new job out of my organization. Posting closed last Mon. Tues at 4:40 they emailed to request an interview and wanted my top days/times for upcoming M-W. I responded with pref Wed afternoon as 1, Tues early or late as 2 or 3. I have not heard a response. I have to figure out an excuse to go on Tues to leave work. Is this normal to keep hanging on?
Not normal. I would send a polite follow up email tomorrow first thing
Like6Just don’t assume anything. Sure the posting is going to close. They asked for a time that works for you, but remember they need to schedule it to work with specific individuals too. You know you can always schedule any important personal time you need. Nobody knows, but you. Best of luck
Like8You can follow up. Try asking chatgpt for help in writing an email. Say something simple like, hi, hope you're doing well. Just wanted to follow up with you if you received my availability for an interview. Express interest in the role. You can reply to the same email chain so the time availabilities are shown below. Double check the email address and make sure it's sent. Don't worry, you asked in the correct group. Message me if you would like any additional help..
Like6No, if they want you, they would have called you even before you said hello. I go by one rule. If I don't get a call in two days, I move on to the next. It happens every time. If the recruiter don't call you in two days after the interview. They will never call you back. Move on to the next chapter until you get to the end of the book. Good luck
Like1Some companies pass it to a scheduler and they need to coordinate schedules. That can take some time especially if it’s multiple people. You can send a follow-up but keep it simple. Also don’t just wait on this one keep applying and move on!
Like3If it gets too close to the date- is they respond on Tuesday to confirm Wednesday- and it really is impossible for you to get away on short notice, you could tell them that time is no longer available and offer additional times. I think it’s unreasonable for them to give such short notice and insight to a company’s culture if they do that without flexibility or understanding of your schedule.
Like1My hunch is the admin on the recruiting system was told to close it and the recruiters are keeping other candidates warm and moving others through the process slowly in case their primary candidate rejects the offer.
