I’m interviewing for a role I’m very interested in (met with a recruiter, hiring manager, a manager and two directors). All interviews went well. My most recent interview was supposed to be the final one, but I received an email asking me to complete an additional one. Could this mean the interviews didn’t go as well as I thought? Can I ask the hiring manager if there was a specific reason why I’m being asked to complete another interview? Has this happened to you? Signed, -Nervous Nancy 🫠
Something similarly happened to me and the only reason they added another layer of interviews was because they had too many good candidates on the table and wanted that additional interviewer’s opinion. Maybe that’s what’s happening on your case too
Like32It happened to me too. Except that the additional interview was to tell me that I was being offered the job. So it might not be a bad thing.
Like29Don’t fight it, just go along with the process. I’ve been on way more interviews and they may want to have more stakeholders have eyes on you before making an offer. At the end, it’s up to them not you. Best of luck!
Like14It happened to me as well. I think they were unsure since my experience was coming out of a different industry. But I got the job after the final interview so wasn’t bad at all.
Like15Ok, this happened to me twice already and I really hoping that it’s a different situation for you! They both ended rejecting me even after the extra interview. What they were doing was that they were dragging my process to get an answer from their potential candidate! Once they sign the contract they reject the remaining people.
Like6Crossing my fingers for you!
Like6This recently happened to me. It turns out that the hiring manager just wanted me to meet one more individual who I would be working closely with. I received an offer the next day. Good luck in your next interview!
Like8Could be as simple as wanting to compare the two interviews or to see how well you would react to such a thing happening, such as keeping your cool, give it a little more time
Like5Dont be suprised, sometimes there just needs to be a second sign-off. Play the game with a smile, show your resilience. Change the game once youre inside
Like6It's a tie breaker interview
Like5probably a culture interview; they would not continue to invest in your candidacy if they were not interested. Good luck! Amy
LikeUpdate: I got the job! The final interviewer really just wanted to introduce herself. Good luck to everyone else in a similar position!
