I’ve recently completed an interview for my dream job at a dream company. It went well (and received same feedback from HR afterwards), however I was just informed the position is placed on hold to ascertain their resources, etc. my interviewer was the head of the department. Would it be inappropriate for me to reach out to her on LinkedIn to let her know I would be interested in any future roles on her team?
Nope. Go for it! Establish a relationship any way you can. That way you are top of mind when it opens back up.
Like9I would definitely reach out to confirm your interest directly with the hiring manager. Highlight what stood out to you about the company and specifically why you would be good at the role and enjoy working with/for the interviewer if you felt that your work style and history would be dynamic. In recruiting, we see this a lot around this time of year - positions get put on hold until the new fiscal year, so hopefully this is a brief wait until November 1 for you!
Like3Ugh, I'm sorry! That's frustrating. I don't think it would be inappropriate at all! It's always good to establish relationships and create a larger network. :) Hopefully the position resurfaces next quarter!
Like2There’s nothing inappropriate about it. Go for it, for sure. You never know when their situation might change. Building a relationship with the Hiring Manager certainly is very valuable. You may also want to consider following up with them in a month or so. All the best :)
Like2Sorry that happened to you! I would definitely keep in touch with the team
