I work in a regional sales role. Currently I receive a salary (160K) plus a onetime annual bonus of up to 6 months salary (I usually get 5.8-5.9 months). This bonus is tied to a annual target and once this is hit there is no more opportunity to make additional compensation. However, under a previous compensation model I would have been making 500k-800k+...I tried to renegotiate for this, it was a no go. I have since figured out I can maximize my compensation in about 3 hours a day.
The question is should I move on? The ease of 250K is hard to walk away from...
Like1$250k is a lot of money if you are not in a HCOL city. I’d take it and enjoy my life.

Like11It sounds like you have a great gig with awesome compensation. Work on a passionate side hustle or if you get bored, you can look elsewhere for more money. It puts you in a tough dilemma because you may have to work more in a new gig. What city and industry are you in? Also, your name shows on your profile, you may want to conceal it, to maintain anonymity.

Like1Stay. That is a lot of money, if you don’t live in a HCOL area. Life isn’t always about the money you earn. Find a hobby, spend time with your family, learn a new skill, volunteer, just enjoy life. Tomorrow is not guaranteed.
Like10If you can make the 500 - 800K with maximum of 8 hours/day, then I'd say go for it. While you're already making good money, doubling or tripling that while working the regular hours like the rest of us, why not? I wouldn't work more than 50 hours just to make the big cash and will make sure to spend good time with family. Also, make sure it's doable to hit the targets at the new place. Ensure there's reasonable work life balance and job stability. Curious as to what company you're anticipating to work for?
LikeDoes your company have competitors? It seems quite reasonable/professional to go to them & state the level of sales you have been generating and ask how much that is worth to them.
Like4Hey Tim West, change your name to something other than your actual name.
Like3Wow. Amazing arrogance from all the employed folk.
Like2I don’t think it is arrogance, it is a fact. You can make quite a bit in sales and 250K is not considered that high if you are in tech. it is also a profession where you have to keep up with your peers and if OP isn’t he will be cut for someone who can.
Like2Not in reference to Analyst 1. A general observation. Maybe as an unemployed seeking, I shouldn’t see the sausage being made. Simple jealousy.
Like1How do I get your job If I only needed 3 hours a day I’d spend the rest of my time doing so many other things

Like2The real question is… Are you happy?
LikeHi, what company do you work for? I would love to make that salary one day. I just finished some sales training and I'm looking to get my foot in the door!
