Current Contractor - Python

I have been working at Akamai for less than a year

Pros

Diversity isn't a buzzword. The percentage of non-white CIS gendered male engineers is higher than any place I've worked. Different perspectives are valued. A good mix of consensus and... decisiveness Haven't found any jerks. Smart helpful people.

Cons

Some technology is ancient. Sometimes this makes no difference (bugzilla is about as good as jira ) Sometimes it is a hassle (p4 is unpleasant compared to git ) In some areas this might hurt the... company. Parts of Linux that weren't great 15 years ago got replaced with custom solutions. Now Linux handles this stuff well and the custom solutions are a bit hard to maintain.

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

I have been working at Veson Nautical full-time for more than a year

Pros

-Amazing, Friendly, Understanding Work environment -Knowledge is everywhere if you are willing to look for it -Amazing client experiences. - Great place to start and grow out of college

Cons

-While you grow quickly here, there isn't a structure on promotions. Having a structure of goals to reach in order to receive a promotion would be nice

Advice to Management

-Work to create a structure based on employees interest to help with promotions
