What Employees Say
I have been working at Alion full-time for less than a year
Pros
Job stability here compared to other defense contractors is actually very good, and government demands on contract are reasonable. Benefits are improving. Still has a small business feel (i.e. walk... down the hallway to get a benefits question answered from HR). All the management I’ve interacted with has been professional and knowledgeable. If you want to sit around and wait for direction, this is not the company for you. Plenty of growth opportunities if you’re ambitious.
Cons
This is a true engineering company, and with that will come lots of introverts and different personalities that you have to navigate. Some of these personalities/senses of humor are not meant to be... understood.
Advice to Management
Focus on retention. Professional development/performance management needs to be hashed out too. Employees should be able to recognize peers with some sort of award system.

Pros
The people are great, the work is plentiful, the learning is plentiful, and the environment is growing.
Cons
The environment was not the best at the time, but was getting better.
Advice to Management
Keep taking care of your people!
