Featured Review

Current Employee - Professional Services Consultant

I have been working at Amazon full-time for less than a year

Pros

There is a plethora of training and resources available to all employees, regardless of tenure. If you are willing to seek out what you are interested in, you can practically create your own dream... job. Everyone is more than willing to help point you in the right direction and the documentation is very high quality. The Amazonian mechanisms work for new hires as well as they work for customers.

Cons

Because there is so much information available, it is easy to go down rabbit holes or feel paralyzed not knowing where to go next. You must drive your own time rather than waiting for instructions... that will not come for the most part.

Advice to Management

Continue improving and iterating on the new hire plans and training sessions to make them more role-based. There is a LOT of information available, but it's often hard to find information about the... day-to-day expectations for your specific role.

Current Intern - Data Analyst Intern

I have been working at City of Philadelphia for less than a year

Pros

Work hours are super flexible

Cons

Preparing the same reports every week does not give you enough flexibility to be creative
