Current Employee - Software Development Manager

I have been working at Amazon full-time for less than a year

Pros

- You can learn a lot very quickly in a very short time - Surrounded with nothing but incredibly smart and driven individuals. - Compensation is well beyond my expectations, and more than suitable.... - Exciting projects all across the company that keep you interested and focused. - Amazon is changing the world

Cons

- Can be overwhelming, very steep learning curve - Can be difficult to keep up if you are not self motivated

Former Employee - Project Manager/Engineer

I worked at Lego Construction full-time for more than a year

Pros

Working at LEGO you will be working with a team of caring and hard working individuals who have a collaborative no-ego involved approach to everything they do.

Cons

Growing pains... Lack of communication from upper management, and overall lack of organization. You get plucked out of a project without an explanation or feedback. Training for the role could also... be bettered. Despite all this the company is still great and just needs to make some adjustments.

Advice to Management

Opening channels of communication and making sure you set time apart to take employee feedback on a regular basis (and implement change based on that feedback) will help employees feel heard and help... address organization issues.
