What Employees Say
I have been working at Amazon full-time for less than a year
Amazon is a fast-paced environment where all partners are provided the ability to suggest and implement changes to improve services provided to customers everyday. Decisions are made quickly based on... what is best for the customer and not just on what a specific leader recommends. You also have the opportunity to truly guide your own career path, pursuing new areas that you find most challenging. Given the incredible projections for growth, there is also considerable job security for the foreseeable future.
The nature of the constant change does create considerable ambiguity in both individual role structure and responsibilities. You need to be comfortable with constant change and able to adapt quickly.
Advice to Management
Provide partners with more direct support and guidance, instead of always pushing individuals towards self driven resources for career development.
I have been working at Pinterest full-time for more than a year
In my time at Pinterest, I've grown tremendously through the support of my team. I've been given the chance to work on high impact, challenging problems, and can see the direct throughline of my... output to the company's mission. My time at Pinterest has flown by, mainly because of the great and challenging work, the great coworkers, and a product I personally use and can stand behind.
Decisions are sometimes made without transparency, or take a long time, which sometimes means IC's have to scramble to hit goals. But we're focusing on making decisions quicker and I think we're on... the right track.
