Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

I have been working at American Red Cross part-time

Pros

People is very friendly here, free drinks and snacks

Cons

Only 2 types jobs they are offering

Former Employee - Web Graphics Mobile Development

I worked at Pet Project full-time for more than a year

Pros

Nice people to work with, both fellow employees and employers. Projects benefit animal welfare. Exposure to lots of different technologies. Never dull. Telecommuting and independent work ethic is... encouraged.

Cons

Poor scheduling of projects; employees on call all hours of the day, seven days a week. Constantly changing targets and goalposts. Compensation is substandard, especially when considering the extreme... time requirements. Often closed minded to employee suggestions.

Advice to Management

Increase in compensation to industry standards in order to keep staff from moving on. Base schedules on realistic timelines. Restrict calls to employees to normal business hours unless its a real... emergency. With better focus, planning, and compensation, could be an excellent work environment with great potential.
