I worked at PPD full-time for more than 10 years
Pros
Managing the PPD phase 1 clinic pharmacy requires a broad range of expertise in many pharmacy practice environments, including but not limited to specialty compounding, the science of cutting edge... drug development, manufacturing, infusion therapy, import/export of drugs and devices, FDA regulations, and USP guidelines. PPD the company provides excellent opportunities for pharmacists interested in capitalizing on their experience in any the above and expanding into the rest. In addition to an excellent offering of management, clinical and personal development training modules, PPD also offers many paths and options for advancement in the industry of both early and late phase drug development.
Cons
Trying to understand and keep pace with the science involved in cutting edge drug development can be overwhelming, even for recently graduated Pharm D's as well as fellows and established... practitioners.
