Advice to Management
Continuing to keep salaries up to date with like positions in the areas you are located. It is very difficult to hire when there are large gaps between what salaries can be found in the community and... what the State is willing to pay for the same work. Unfortunately too - often benefits are very close to the same - and in some cases now - better. I believe in some sectors, Health and Human Services Commission, that this disparity is being addressed. Awesome! Changing the number of years a person needs to work before being vested would also be helpful. 10 years is too long for today's workforce. I loved working for the State. The things I mention would have made it better and more tenable for my career and family.
