Software Engineer

I worked at Art & Logic

Work on a variety of challenging projects with friendly, highly competent coworkers. Since you do all your work remotely, there's no need to commute, and you can relocate for personal reasons... without giving up your job. Expect to work roughly 30 hours per week. Art & Logic has built over 1000 successful projects, and this experience shows.: they have the estimation process, assembling of teams, project management, and client communications all down to an art.

There are downsides to having no office to go to: it's up to you as the worker to keep your workplace distraction free and capable of handling conference calls. Like many contract jobs, this job... offers no benefits. Wages are filed as 1099, so you are in charge of paying estimated taxes quarterly.

Advice to Management

I tried to follow estimation guidelines, but I sometimes wonder whether my estimates turned out accurate. I would have liked feedback as to how the time spent on projects actually panned out vs. what... I estimated.

I have worked remotely for over 15 years. Clevertech does this style of work better than any company I've worked with in the past. Clevertech is a great place to work for many reasons: Remote!... (if that is your thing) Management trusts their employees. Management is engaged with the employees Management invests in their employees. Management is genuinely interested in their employees' happiness. Very competitive salaries. Good benefits package. Fairly flexible schedule ... within reason. You are part of a high-talent team. Interesting projects. Work with top talent from around the world.

Remote work is not for everybody. Generally, you need to be a self-starter, good with remote communication tools, fairly organized, and occasionally available to work odd hours due to the worldwide... team structure. These aren't really what I consider cons, but you need to make sure working remotely fits your MO.

Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing. Your recent initiatives to help your workforce improve their knowledge and home-office work environment are fantastic.
