I have been working at Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group full-time for more than a year
This pandemic has been a lot for our industry. Demand on our team has never been higher but we all work together to get the job done and we have fun doing it. This, and we all had to figure out how... to work as a tight-knit team all from our own homes. My manager always takes time out of her week to check in on me and my family... she exemplifies our company's core value of genuine care to a tee. My team has seen growth and downsizing since i've been here but it's all made a lot of sense and the most recent changes really demonstrate how much thought people have put toward making the company successful in the long term. I left my old job because I was burned out and always giving 110%, but wasn't feeling appreciated. I didn't realize HOW unappreciated I was there until I came home to Atlantic Bay. I feel respected by not only my coworkers but by management as well. Finally I feel like I have a place to grow my career.
I will say that the amount of email and messages I get throughout the day does feel a little all over the place. We have enough going on with industry changes every day, but beacuse the company is... trying to make everyone feel engaged while working remote, we have messages all the time about remote life happy hours and workout classes - and tons of internal newsletters (just started a new one too!) asking us to participate in different things. Sometimes it feels like just too much... then I end up missing the email or message that I actually cared about or needed for my job because it was pushed down by something else like kids' camps or virtual 5Ks. But I guess if my biggest compliant is that my company is smothering me in support and love during a pandemic, then it's not really that bad!!
Advice to Management
Use Teams more to allow people to get updated on what they want to be updated on if it's not mission critical to their jobs and give people the ability to opt-in rather than making people ahve to opt... out. That would cut down on lots of emails.
