Current Employee - Manager Or Director

I have been working at Banque Nationale du Canada/National Bank of Canada full-time for less than a year

Pros

- Senior management focused on profitability, client experience, employee experience, social responsibility, diversity... they seem to really care and to get it - Business managers treat people like... people (not always the case in the mean streets of Finance) - NY office has a good collaborative set-up in a nice midtown building with free gym, etc. - You can work hard and still have a life... that seems to be peoples' goal here

Cons

- Smaller banking platform than major Canadian peers and much smaller than global or US peers (not necessarily a Con, but a fact nonetheless) - NY office not always front of mind for the bank's... Montreal (and Toronto) leadership

Advice to Management

- Mostly keep doing what you're doing, but... >>> improve communication between groups >>> don't treat NY office like it's a provincial outpost...it's freakin' New York!

They had really great benefits, nice salary plus commission structure, loved my coworkers

Cons

The products we sold didn't work. Account Management was a nightmare

Advice to Management
